چکیده

Point mutations of the p53 tumor suppressor gene are a frequent finding in human carcinomas and are thought to be an important oncogenic event. In non-Hodgkin lymphomas, p53 mutations occur in a minor fraction of cases. However, conclusive data are still lacking for Hodgkin's disease (HD) where the analysis meets technical problems. The neoplastic tumor cell clone in HD is represented by the large Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells, which account for only a minority of all cells in the tumor tissue (often <1%). To identify putative HRS cell-specific mutations, single HRS cells were micromanipulated from frozen tissue sections of HD biopsy specimens. Exons 4 to 8 of the p53 gene (in which more than 90% of p53 mutations associated with human neoplasms occur) were amplified from these single cells and sequenced. Mutations of p53 were not found in HRS cells of any of 8 cases of HD analyzed. We conclude that mutation of the p53 gene is only rarely, if at all, involved in the pathogenesis of HD.

بیان پذیرنده‌های SDF1 در بیماران مبتلا به لنفوم هوچکین

Background : Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of immune system malignancies, constituting about 30% of all cases of lymphomas. It is divided into four subgroups based on histopathologic findings. Recent reports indicate that SDF1 chemokine plays a major role in the development, survival and metastasis of many cancers, including breast, prostate and pancreas. So far, its expression and especially re...

Charcot-Leyden Crystals in Hodgkin's Lym-phoma

Herein, we reported on a middle-aged woman presented with painless cervical lymphadenopathy. Past medical history was not significant. Pathologic examination of incisional biopsy show partial effacement of lymph node architecture with many reactive inflammatory cells admixed with Reed-Sternberg cells, many Charcot-Leyden crystals, and noncaseating granuloma. Immunohistochemical staining was pos...

Detection of genomic imbalances in microdissected Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma by array-based comparative genomic hybridization.

BACKGROUND Cytogenetic analysis of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma is limited by the low content of the neoplastic Hodgkin-Reed-Sternberg cells in the affected tissues. However, available cytogenetic data point to an extreme karyotype complexity. To obtain insights into chromosomal imbalances in classical Hodgkin's lymphoma, we applied array-based comparative genomic hybridization (array comparati...

Genetic instability in Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Genetic instability is a characteristic feature of the malignant Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells in classical Hodgkin's lymphoma and the lymphocytic and histiocytic (L&H) cells in lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin's lymphoma. Genetic instability can be classified into four major categories: distinct DNA mutations (microsatellite instability); numerical aberrations (chromosomal instability);...
